According to the SMMT, electric vehicle sales in the UK skyrocketed in 2022, up 40% from 2021. But two thirds of these came from corporate buyers and the proportion of EVs against new car registrations was still low compared to the rest of Europe.
Amidst a backdrop of rising fuel prices, inaccessible charging and high upfront costs, mainstream motorists needed more convincing to switch from fossil fuel cars. Meanwhile, poor integration between OEMs, energy providers, dealerships and charging companies – all key parts of the EV ecosystem – led to a fragmented customer journey.
To drive prospect leads, CI&T produced a white paper examining barriers to adoption and how digital experiences could help to address them. I commissioned a new survey of both EV and non-EV drivers, sourced quotes from business leaders and wrote full copy.
